What Is Lantern?

Lantern Academy is a training and operational reference platform for medical gas technicians. It has two connected parts:

1. The training course — a structured online course covering the knowledge and procedures required for your role. You complete this first.
2. The MedGas Library — a searchable library of equipment records and operational workflows specific to your facility. You access this after completing the course.

These two parts are connected. Completing the course is what unlocks access to the library.

Why you are taking this course

Medical gas systems require documented, verified training. When you complete the course:

• Your completion is recorded and on file
• Your Facility Director can track and verify your status
• You gain access to equipment records and approved operational workflows for your facility

How your facility connects to what you see

Your Lantern account is linked to your facility. The equipment records and workflows you can see are specific to your facility’s configuration. You will not see equipment or workflows from other facilities.

Logging In

Your credentials

Your username and temporary password were sent to you in a welcome email from Lantern Academy. If you have not received it, check your spam or junk folder first. If it is not there, contact your Facility Director — they can ask Lantern to resend it.

How to log in

1. Open a web browser and go to lanternacademy.com.
2. Click Log In in the site header, or go directly to /login/.
3. Enter your username (usually your work email address) and your password.
4. Click Log In.

First login: Your welcome email includes a temporary password or a one-time login link. Use it to set a permanent password before your first login. If the link has expired, contact your Facility Director and ask them to request a new welcome email from the Lantern administrator.

After logging in

If you have a course assigned, you will land on your course dashboard. If you have already completed your course, you will be taken to the MedGas Library.

Resetting your password

1. Go to the login page.
2. Click Lost your password?
3. Enter your email address and click Get New Password.
4. Check your inbox for a reset link and follow the instructions.

If you do not receive the reset email within a few minutes, check your spam folder. If it is still not there, contact your Facility Director.
